Dena Strehlow, PhD

Nominations & Elections Committee Candidate
Current Title:
Global Account Director
Employer: Tate & Lyle

Why do you want to serve in this role?

I am excited to serve IFT for two reasons:

  1. To give back to a wonderful professional organization that has given me so much since I joined as a student 30 years ago while at the Univ of Illinois.  From gaining leaderships skills in the Student Association to accepting financial scholarships from top-tier companies, IFT helped me build an amazing personal and professional network that feels like family to this day.
  2. I genuinely care about shaping the future of IFT and identifying leaders who can bring a sound voice on important issues that stretch from farm to table.

Please describe how your attributes and experiences have prepared you for board service.

First, my broad career experiences working in product development, disruptive innovation, customer strategy, and commercial sales have prepared me to be a strategic thought leader who respects the complex challenges facing IFT and the importance of leading with integrity and transparency.

Secondly, I bring deep appreciation and understanding of the food industry from Ingredient Supply to Customer Sales to CPG Execution in-market.  I am passionate about advancing science and innovation so that our industry can proudly feed the world safely, sustainably, and with nutrition in mind.

Finally, I will draw upon my strong global network to recruit top talent to lead IFT into the future.

Please provide a short narrative biography of important career and personal accomplishments.
