Ariel Buehler is the recipient of the inaugural Evan Turek Memorial Scholarship and Kraft Foods Internship. Buehler, an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, will intern at Kraft Foods this summer where she will apply her food microbiology expertise to the development of new preservation systems for food products. The scholarship and internship were established in Evan Turek’s memory through generous donations from Kraft Foods, IFT members, and Turek’s family.
Feeding Tomorrow, the Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists, has partnered with General Mills to award two scholarships and paid summer internships to two graduate food science students. Adriana Soto, a Ph.D. student at the Louisiana State University, and Jonathan Kershaw, a Master’s student at Purdue University, are the recipients of the 2012 General Mills scholarships and summer internships.
