Program Description

The Department of Food Science and Engineering (FSE)was originally developed from the Department of Food Engineering, Tianjin Institute of Light Industry, established in 1958. It was renamed as the Department of Food Science and Engineering of College of Food Engineering and Biotechnology,Tianjin University of Science and Technology in 2000. As one of the earliest food science programs in China, the FSE has provided the Chinese food industry with more than 2800 graduates until now. The College offers six doctorate programs under the primary discipline of Food Science and three bachelor programs including FSE. Targeting the highest international standards of food science education, FSE continuously pursues high standards of teaching quality and has succeeded in these challenges through recognition in the National Featured Program and National Teaching Team. FSE was accredited in 2009, 2012 and 2015, respectively By the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA), and accredited for Approved undergraduate Food Science programs by the IFT HERB in 2016.
