Graduate Research Video Competition Sponsored by Campden BRI

Showcase your graduate research in a creative and concise way! Interested students will submit a fun, creative three-minute video related to original research being conducted by the student during their graduate studies on any subject related to food science or technology. Additionally, students will submit a personal statement explaining why they should be chosen to visit Campden BRI and the different ways they plan to capture their experience through various social media channels.


Participants should be currently enrolled in a graduate level (i.e. MS, PhD or equivalent) degree program and a current student member of the Institute of Food Technologists. For complete details, consult the Rules and Regulations document for this competition.


Up to three finalists will receive $500 travel grants towards travel to IFT20 in Chicago, IL. The winner of the competition will be selected to attend an approximately 10-day industry visit opportunity at Campden BRI in the United Kingdom. The industry visit will occur during a mutually agreed upon time by the winner and Campden BRI to take place between September and December 2020. While at Campden BRI, the winner will have the opportunity to experience each of the major divisions (science, technology, brewing, and knowledge management) focusing on the most relevant areas of their area of study and visit industry members to gain an insight into the UK/EU perspective. The student’s travel costs will be covered up to $7,500. Final details will be determined by the sponsoring company in discussion with the winner.
