TNO, FOODPOLIS to collaborate on food innovation in Korea

December 3, 2013

TNO, based in the Netherlands, and FOODPOLIS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop research collaborations in food innovation and nutritional health. FOODPOLIS, the Korean National Food Cluster, is designed to be a cluster of economic activity that can bring companies with similar focuses together. TNO is an independent innovation organization. TNO connects people and knowledge to create innovations that sustainably boost the competitive strength of industry and the welfare of society.

The FOODPOLIS concept offers TNO the perspective to become part of an integrated academic and industrial food cluster originating from Korea’s rich and healthy culinary traditions. TNO brings knowledge in innovation, health, and safety aspects along the food production chain to this collaboration. Intending to start with joint research projects, meetings, and exchange of experts, the collaboration may develop into a local presence of TNO in Korea.
