SGS has announced it has opened a new ISO 17025 accredited food laboratory in Fairfield, N.J., to meet growing demand for food testing services. Set within SGS’ existing Consumer Products Laboratory, this facility delivers the critical support services required from a laboratory partner: access to technical experts and the latest microbiological and analytical equipment, friendly customer service, rapid turn-around times that reduce time to market, and sample pick-up.
“Food safety issues are never far from the headlines, increasing demand for food testing,” said Michael Zhu, VP Food North America. “SGS’ investment establishes reliable third-party testing facilities in New Jersey, providing the northeast region with easy access to fast, efficient, reliable food safety services.”
Located 30 miles west of New York City, this facility provides regional access to the Northeast’s large ports and refrigerated storage facilities. SGS now offers a range of food testing services to manufacturers located in several nearby markets, including the East Coast seafood industry, as well as Northeast and Mid-Atlantic meat and dairy processors, importers, and growers.
