Maya Warren joined Kahala Brands as “tastemaster” and food scientist for portfolio brands Cold Stone Creamery and Pinkberry.
“Maya will be a great addition to the team,” says Michael Serruya, chairman and CEO of Kahala Brands. “As our lead food scientist, whom we affectionately call our ‘tastemaster,’ she will work with our Research & Development team to create new flavors and innovative products unique to each concept. Maya, who received a PhD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in food science, has vast knowledge of frozen aerated products, so we are really excited to have her on board.”
In this role, Warren will promote new flavors as well as customer favorites. “I love talking to people about ice cream and frozen yogurt—their eyes light up! And I love the science behind the microstructure and what makes it taste so good,” says Warren.
