Mark Hughes passed away on Sept. 13, 2017, following an illness. During his more than 30-year career, Hughes became a leading expert in global food ingredient marketing and a recognized thought leader in new communication models like content marketing and B2B social media. He worked on iconic branding initiatives like “Pork. The Other White Meat” and “The Milk Mustache” campaign, as well as successful product launches and marketing for Kraft Heinz Ingredients, Corbion, Ardent Mills, Chiquita Brands International, ConAgra Brands, and Land O’Lakes Ingredients. Most recently, Hughes was CEO at Anderson Partners, where he worked in food ingredients marketing for more than 20 years.

Additionally, Hughes was a frequent speaker at industry events and an active member of the Research Chefs Assoc. and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). He was also on the leadership committee of IFT’s marketing and management division and served on IFT’s Annual Meeting Scientific Program Advisory Panel.

Hughes is survived by his wife, Susan, and daughters, Elizabeth and Abigail.
