Jordan Neff, R&D Chef, Better Nutritionals

  1. How did you get your start in the food industry?
    I originally wanted to learn culinary skills for myself, and not as a profession. But during summer breaks in college I took on cooking jobs for some extra cash. During that time, I found out I love crafting artistic plates of food so much that I changed my career to stay in the food industry.

  2. What do you love about your job?
    I love the fact that I’m producing tons of food with functional ingredients for thousands of people to enjoy. Bringing health and happiness to people is a dream come true.

  3. What is the biggest challenge that you face in your job?
    Translating R&D lab samples to large machinery processes. It’s not far off, but adaptation has its tough points.

  4. What have you learned or been exposed to in the past 12 months that has helped you in your job?
    Speaking Spanish. I love the idea of thinking through a problem in more than one language.

  5. How do you see the food industry evolving over the coming year?
    Functional Foods delivered right to your door.

  6. Fun Fact: What’s your favorite food?
    A vegetarian antipasto plate with bruschetta, crostini, melon, and a refreshing drink.
