Each one of these groups is part of the broader customer chain, some as internal customers
, others as external customers
. An external customer is someone who directly purchases the products or services of a business enterprise. An internal customer is a group in the distribution channel that receives processes, products and services from others in the organization. For example, your teachers are customers of one another. If you fail to become a proficient reader or writer after taking English classes, you will not be an effective student in a history class. In this case, the history teacher is an internal customer of the English teacher.
