Eligibility RequirementsThe Freshman/Sophomore Scholarship program encourages outstanding students to pursue a B.S. at an IFT-approved university in the field of food science and food technology.

Policies

For sophomore scholarships, any freshman must intend to enroll or be enrolled in an approved food science/technology program, except as otherwise noted, who has maintained at least a 3.0 GPA (A=4.0) for the first term of study, and who has the recommendation of the department head.

Scholarships are available to Freshmen with a 3.0 GPA or above, pursuing a curriculum in food science or food technology, and intending to enroll or be enrolled in an IFT-approved university.  Scholarships are available to Sophomores with a 3.0 GPA or above currently enrolled in an IFT-approved university pursuing a food science or food technology degree. (for purposes of this document, approved program means the program meets the "IFT Undergraduate Education Standards for Degrees in Food Science," as determined by the Committee on Higher Education).

A scholarship award winner that withdraws from school, graduates early, or transfers to another major during tenure of the scholarship award, must forfeit their scholarship. It is the responsibility of the student and Department Head to notify the Scholarship Manager of the Institute within 30 days when such conditions exist.  The balance of the scholarship will revert to the general fund of Feeding Tomorrow or will be returned to the donor at the discretion of the donor.

Incomplete applications and applications in which the grades have not been converted to the A=4.0 system may be disqualified.  Applications received after the deadline will be disqualified.
