IP Ranges

IFT defines one IP range as the following:

"X1.X2.0 to 255.0 to 255"

Where X1 is the Main IP address (1st part), X2 is the Main IP address (2nd part), X3(0) to X3 (255) is the First subnet minimum to First subnet maximum, and X4 (0) to X4 (255) is the Second subnet minimum to Second subnet maximum.

An example of one IP range would be the following:

"1.1.3.3" is within the range 1.1.0-255.0-255.

Users should refer to version 4 of the Internet protocol (IPv4) to define IP addresses. Questions should be referred to the Institutional subscriber's IT administrator.
