Topical and Systemic Anti-Inflammatory Properties of HIDROX® (Olivenol® Plus+): a Proprietary Formulation of Hydroxytyrosl Derived from the Juice of Organic Olives
Since the introduction into the marketplace of HIDROX® by CreAgri, Inc. in 2005, numerous pre- and clinical studies around the world suggest that olive polyphenols, especially hydroxytyrosl, may have an important role in the management of many human conditions characterized by chronic inflammation. Recent findings on the mechanism of hydroxytyrosol suggest that it may act via signaling pathways and in particular as potent gene expression modulator of the cellular pathway NFkB and its associated Transcription Factors. This is of great importance as hydroxytyrosol could become a safe, totally natural and effective food ingredient for the control of the expression of many pro-inflammatory agents at their cellular root, with potential health benefits for a range of catastrophic chronic diseases including, cardio, neurodegenerative, and autoimmune disease. This presentation focuses upon some of the topical and systemic benefits obtained in a number of trials conducted with Olivenol® plus+, a dietary supplement and skincare product featuring Hidrox®.
