Sequencing the Mind’s Health and Wellness Message Genomes
Session Track: Consumer Lifestyles & Demographics
Session Date: Thursday, February 28, 2013; 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Session Description
History shows that the ‘telephone game’ is alive and well in the food industry. What food scientists and marketers say about the health and wellness implications of their developments, and what people take away from it, are often contradictory to one another. This session explores the importance of choosing the right words and the right concepts to help consumers win their struggles with their wallets, health, and general well-being. Through this session, you will learn about the psychodynamic principles of health and their communication. You will also find out ‘what works’ when communicating about health, will identify different mind-sets in the population and how to address the needs of each, and will understand sequencing the genome of the ‘healthful mind’ across a number foods, both now and in the future.
