Exam Format

The CFS examination is a computer-based exam offered at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide. Pearson VUE’s network of over 250 Pearson Professional Centers in the United States and several other countries. (Elsewhere, the exam is offered in comparable facilities known as Pearson VUE Select Testing Centers.) Additional Payment Information

All fees are listed in U.S. dollars.  We accept the following forms of payment:

  • Checks in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank
  • Postal money orders in U.S. dollars
  • Credit cards
    • American Express
    • Visa
    • MasterCard
    • Discover
    Wire transfers are not accepted.

    These fees are non-refundable.  In the event that your CFS application is declined, you will be refunded your application fee minus a $150 non-refundable processing fee.

Retaking the Examination

If you do not pass the examination, you may retake it during any other testing window upon payment of the retesting fee. You may take the exam twice in any one-year period. If you fail the exam and wish to retake it more than a year after the approval of your initial application, you will have to request an extension of your authorization to test; you will be asked to pay the retest fee, but a new application fee will not be charged. No Shows

Unless you provide Pearson VUE at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation, if you miss your exam appointment, you will be considered a “no show”. Likewise, if you arrive late and are not admitted, if you fail to present adequate identification, or if you refuse the nondisclosure agreement, you will not be allowed to take the test and will be considered a “no show”. You will be allowed to schedule a new test appointment upon payment of the retest fee. Access the CFS Retest Form.
