FLRD Mid-Year Conference Committee The purpose of the committee is to plan a mid-year 2008 one day conference of general interest to division members.
FLRD Annual Meeting Program Committee - The purpose of this committee is to inform Division members of the opportunity to submit symposia, papers for oral presentation and posters for consideration by the IFT Annual Meeting Scientific Programming Advisory Committee Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a separate Division committee, which will be the Division representatives to the Subcommittee of the Annual Meeting Scientific Programming Advisory Committee which considers all abstracts submitted for presentation during the IFT Annual Meeting.

Annual Meeting Scientific Program Advisory Committee (AMSPAC)
- The members of this Division Committee are responsible for reviewing and
approving symposia, papers and posters submitted by IFT members in the areas of
food laws and regulations for presentation during the 2008 IFT Annual Meeting in
New Orleans - Information about the SPS is posted at
FLRD Awards Committee - The Committee is to make recommendations to the Executive Committee for individuals who should be considered for nomination to be an IFT Fellow, any of the IFT Awards, and most importantly for the FLRD Division Achievement Award which is to be presented on an annual basis to an individual for a long term substantive contribution to the field of food laws and regulations, including teaching, legal practice, government, industrial and consumer service
FLRD George Burdock Student Travel Award and Luncheon Ticket Award Committee This Committee works with Division Student Representatives and the Burdock Group to develop the procedures for students who wish to apply for the awards. An anonymous jury of three division members selects the award winners. For the 2008 award process, George Burdock of the Burdock Group is supporting two student travel awards of $500 each and the Division is supporting one student travel award of $500; plus the Division will purchase up to $500 in tickets for winning students to attend the Division Annual Meeting and Luncheon.
FLRD By-Laws Committee - This Committee is to review and make recommendations to the Division Executive Committee on amendments to the Division By-Laws, which must be revised due to the elimination of the positions for Counselor and Alternate Counselor.
FLRD Codex Committee - The role of the Committee is to seek comments and information from Division members on requests by the IFT Leadership and Staff on issues under consideration by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
