Obesity – The Issue and the Scope of the Symposium

Mark Nelson, Grocery Manufacturers Association and Chair IFT Food Law and Regulations Division

We’ve seen the CDC charts, we’ve heard the claims for who or what caused the crisis.  In the end, individual people will make individual choices to strike a balance between the foods they eat and their level of physical activity. This IFT Symposium will look at what food and beverage products industry may change or create, how the regulatory environment may make that more or less difficult, and how all of this is communicated to the consumer.
