Tate & Lyle, a global provider of specialty food ingredients, has announced the launch of its new Beverage Optimize formulation service in the United States. Through Beverage Optimize, food and beverage manufacturers can work directly with Tate & Lyle to reduce calories using the company’s beverage formulation experience and portfolio of ingredients, including sweeteners such as Splenda sucralose and Krystar crystalline fructose, as well as texturants and acidulants.

service for customers. Prototypes are now available in the following categories: juices, carbonated soft drinks, still drinks, and beverage mixes.

In other news, Tate & Lyle has opened a new application and technical service facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The new facility is part of Tate & Lyle’s global network of 15 applications and technical service laboratories that provide applications studies, rapid prototyping, and complete formulation expertise to help food and beverage customers’ transition more quickly from product conception to market.
The new facility is located close to Congonhas Domestic Airport in Sao Paulo, and offers expertise in the application of Tate & Lyle’s ingredients that support new product development and line extensions in the beverage, bakery, soups, sauces and dressings, dairy, and snack categories. In addition, the facility employs an IKA colloid mill and a RVA system to test the applicability and behavior of Tate & Lyle’s range of starches, simulating processing conditions.
