Tyson Foods has received a letter dated Aug. 22, 2017, from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) concerning the previously disclosed investigation of the company related to the allegations in In re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation. The letter stated that the SEC staff has concluded its investigation and that, based on the information it has as of that date, it does not intend to recommend an enforcement action by the SEC against Tyson.

Tyson and a handful of other large meat companies were accused of antitrust violations relating to the pricing, production of broiler chicken, and compensation to farmers. The company received a subpoena from the SEC on Jan. 20, 2017, after U.S. poultry buyers filed a lawsuit last year.
