The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is providing an additional 60 days for public comment on the agency’s proposed rule to revoke the authorized health claim on the relationship between soy protein and reduced risk of coronary heart disease. The FDA published the proposed rule, “Food Labeling: Health Claims; Soy Protein and Coronary Heart Disease,” on Oct. 31, 2017. The FDA is extending the comment period in response to requests from stakeholders for additional time. The comment period will now close on March 19, 2018.
