Mars Chocolate North America
released its goodnessknows snack squares, two-bite snacks packed with nuts, fruit, toasted oats, and a layer of dark chocolate. The squares are packaged in sets of four at about 40 calories each, for a total of 150 calories per pack, with each serving providing 100 milligrams of naturally occurring cocoa flavanols.

“Healthier ways to snack are important right now—and people want it all when it comes to taste, convenience, and nutrition,” says Kerry Cavanaugh, senior brand director for goodnessknows. Mars intends consumers to snack consciously and encourages them to share with friends or save any remaining squares for the future.

The squares will be available nationwide in August in three flavors—Cranberry Almond Dark Chocolate, Apple Almond & Peanut Dark Chocolate, and Peach & Cherry Almond Dark Chocolate—for a suggested retail price of $1.59–$ 1.99 per four-square bar and $4.99–$6.99 per five-serving multipack carton.

Original Chicken StripSnackable chicken strips
According to Jack Link’s, chicken is the fastest-growing alternative protein, and in line with that trend, the company introduced its Original Chicken Strip, a semifirm white meat chicken strip with a smoky, barbecue-style flavor.

“With its neutral flavor, chicken can take on almost any profile,” says the company. “So, we utilized this protein’s versatility to match flavor with the idea of a light snack.”

Packed with 6 grams of protein and just 1 gram of fat and 70 calories per 0.8-ounce serving, the strips make for a satisfying on-the-go snack. They are available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.69.

SuperSeedzSuper flavorful seeds
SuperSeedz launched a line of mini pouches each filled with 1 ounce of the company’s small-batch dry-roasted pumpkin seeds. The resealable standup pouches contain 7–9 grams of vegan, plant-based protein without any cholesterol or trans fats.

“These new 1-ounce packs are great for school lunches or an after-school snack and are perfect to toss in a backpack, luggage, purse, or desk drawer so they’ll be handy when you get the urge for a healthy, gluten-free flavor boost,” says the company in a press release. The non-GM seeds, which are also peanut- and tree-nut-free, provide 15% of the recommended daily allowance of iron and zinc.

Available in select retailers and online, the no-shell seeds come in six flavors, such as Maple Sugar & Sea Salt and Somewhat Spicy, for a suggested retail price of $3.99 for two mini pouches.
