To deliver on its mission and improve the product tracing capabilities of industry and regulating agencies and become recognized as the trusted source of advice and expertise concerning global traceability, the GFTC operates within four integrated business platforms. These core platforms are the operational framework that foster solutions in response to immediate stakeholder requirements and evolve into more mature business solutions to address and resolve more comprehensive traceability issues.

The GFTC four integrated business platforms include:


Collaborate with knowledgeable experts and global experts in conducting benchmark studies and market assessments across all food groups to deliver recommendations and actionable solutions for stakeholders throughout the global food system.

Protocols & Standards

Participate in the development of international data standards and uniform requirements in order to establish food traceability recommendations and guidelines that inform and assist industry stakeholders and policy makers in making science-based decisions.

Education & Training

Provide ongoing learning opportunities and practical tools to help food industry stakeholders understand and implement sustainable traceability solutions more effectively.

Technology Transfer

Develop an incubator for new ideas and technologies that will encourage interoperable traceability systems and solutions. Provide the mechanisms to pilot and test these embryonic ideas and assess their capabilities.
