Clint Stevenson2005-2006 IFT Student Association President and recipient of IFT scholarships from 2001-2005

Scholarship RecipientClint Stevenson grew up on a small hobby farm raising dairy heifers, steers, sheep and hogs. “I wanted to find a career in agriculture. I recognized food science as a career path full of opportunity and fun challenges.”

Mentors Kerry Huber at the University of Idaho and IFT Past President Ann Hollingsworth provided academic advice and encouraged involvement with the IFT Student Association. Stevenson interned with SYSCO Foodservices of Idaho, Nestle Powerbar and Heinz Frozen Food. Stevenson now works as a Team Advisor for Schreiber Foods in Utah producing chunk, shredded and string cheese.

What advice does Stevenson have for those starting careers in food science and technology? “If you are interested in such a career path, talk to a university food science department about food science courses and available scholarships.”
