(1) $3,000 Inaugural Edlong Dairy Flavors Scholarship -- NEW
Edlong Dairy Flavors, a leading company specializing in concentrated dairy flavors, is offering a $3,000 scholarship to a graduate or undergraduate student. The student must be enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. food science program with a focus in dairy science and /or dairy flavors or pursuing an undergraduate degree in food science with a focus in dairy flavors at an IFT approved university. (1) $1,000 Inaugural Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods Division Scholarship -- NEW
Through the dedicated efforts of the Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods Division founder, Fereidoon Shahidi, this graduate scholarship has been established to encourage student research in the field of nutraceuticals and functional foods field. The scholarship is available to a Master's or Ph.D. student. The application must include the following: the student's contributions to nutraceuticals and functional foods, graduate transcripts, a list of publications/presentations, and one recommendation letter.
(1) $1,000 Inaugural Education Division Scholarship -- NEW
Sponsored by the Education Division, this scholarship will be awarded to a Master's or Ph.D. student who has made a strong commitment to food science education through teaching, research, and service.
(1) $1,500 Inaugural Food Laws and Regulations Division Scholarship -- NEW
Sponsored by the Food Laws and Regulation Division, this scholarship will support a graduate student pursuing a career in regulatory science. The scholarship is available to a Master's or Ph.D. student.
(1) $2,000 Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association:
Dr. Richard L. Hall Scholarship in Flavor Science
This student will devote his or her graduate studies to using sound science in the safety assessment of flavors.

(1) $3,000 Gerber Endowment in Pediatric Nutrition
This scholarship is intended for students conducting research in nutrition with an emphasis in pediatrics. Recipients are required to provide the sponsor with a progress report in mid-December of no more than 5 typed, double-spaced pages.
(2) $1,000 IFT Extension Division
For the IFT Extension Division graduate scholarship, your university of enrollment may be any Land Grant institution that has an Extension component. The scholarships are intended for students who have demonstrated a definite interest in Extension-related activities through research projects and/or coursework. Two $1,000 scholarships will be available for students enrolled as a Master's or Ph.D. student at the time the scholarship is awarded. Selection will be based on career objectives, research interest and experience, academic performance, and letters of recommendation. The statement of research and career objectives should be no more than 1 page (about 225 words single spaced). You also must be a member of the Extension Division.
(1) $2,000 IFT Sensory and Consumer Sciences Division Silver Celebration (Master’s)
The Master’s scholarship is available to a graduate student that has been enrolled in a graduate degree program less than 2 years at the time the award is made. The following IFT graduate scholarship policies and procedures do not apply to this award:
- A written report is required at the midpoint of the academic year by the student earning a specialized scholarship.
- The applicant must forfeit his or her graduate scholarship if the research is not completed or if he or she completes the graduate degree before the end of the academic year the scholarship was awarded.
(1) $5,000 IFT Sensory and Consumer Sciences Division Silver Celebration (Ph.D.)
This scholarship is available to a graduate student in a doctoral program conducting research focused on food sensory and consumer science.
(3) $2,500 Feeding Tomorrow
General scholarships from the Feeding Tomorrow Scholarship Fund.

(1) $2,000 The Institute for Thermal Processing Specialists (Master’s)
Scholarship will be presented annually to a graduate student in a master’s program studying food science, food engineering or applied microbiology as it relates to food preservation.

Scholarship will be presented annually to a graduate student in a doctoral program studying food science, food engineering or applied microbiology as it relates to food preservation.
Payments
All IFT Scholarships will be distributed in two payments, August 15 and January 15, through the department heads. Upon receiving each payment, we ask the department heads to verify registration of the scholarship/fellowship recipients.
In addition, all recipients will receive recognition at a Regional Section meeting where the university is located, by a representative of the sponsor whenever possible.
