    As the food industry is continually challenged to provide authentic, healthful and differentiated foods, sensory and consumer research can provide a key role to translate consumer needs into actionable information for product development. Inspiration from ethnography, investigating uniqueness, unaided acceptance and emotional research will be discussed to deliver successful healthy and ethnic foods to the marketplace. Sarah V. Kirkmeyer, Ph.D. leads the North American Sensory team at Givaudan Flavors in Cincinnati. She has over 15 years of sensory and consumer research experience across flavors, beverages and cosmetics. She is the incoming Chair of the Sensory and Consumer Sciences Division of IFT, part of the Sensory Science Annual Meeting Scientific Planning Committee and was past Leadership Development Team Lead, Awards Chair and Member at Large.
