The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requires that all companies producing food (not currently under regulatory-required HACCP) have a written Food Safety Plan as well as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) to create, implement and oversee that Food Safety Plan.

This two-and-a-half-day short course, in partnership with Mérieux Nutrisciences, was designed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), and is the FDA-recognized course for training food and beverage industry professionals seeking to become PCQI.

You will be able to:
  • Upon passing of the exam, become a PCQI with the training to create and implement a Food Safety Plan to comply with the FDA’s Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation.
  • Learn the differences between a traditional HACCP plan and the new PCHF requirements for implementing and documenting Preventive Controls under an FDA Food Safety Plan with Hazard analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls.

Cancellation Policy

Substitution Policy
If you registered but are unable to attend, please contact Clare Keesey at ckeesey@ift.org or 312.604.0254 with the name and contact information of your replacement. Note that an additional fee may apply if the replacement's membership status differs from yours.

Event Cancellation
In the event of course cancellation, neither IFT nor Mérieux NutriSciences is responsible for attendee reimbursement of travel, lodging, or any other costs associated with this course beyond refunding the full registration fee.
