Award Description: Honors an individual who has demonstrated lifetime contributions to the science of food.
Award: $5,000 honorarium and a crystal award from IFT, and a bronze medal from Chicago Section IFT
Criteria & Eligibility: Nominee careers must reflect cumulative, measurable contributions to the science of food. Examples include, but are not limited to individuals:
- Whose record of research publications has shaped a particular field of study;
- Who have had a positive impact in food science through research, teaching, and outreach (extension) activities;
- Whose novel products are enjoyed around the world; and/or
- Whose work has supported transformative improvements in food safety and/or nutrition regulation in their country.
