February 22, 2011

CHICAGO-The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) has received four awards—including the first-place  Gold Award for Web Sites-- in the 2010 Association TRENDS All-Media Contest, an annual competition  held for associations that recognizes the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry. IFT also received top awards for its annual meeting marketing program, annual report and a video titled “A Day in the Life of a NASA Food Scientist”.

IFT’s web site was launched at the 2010 Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Chicago. This site includes a newly branded look and feel, which is part of IFT’s overall new branding initiative. New elements include content organized around food science topics, greater use of video, an exclusive online community for members only, and enhanced search capability.

In regards to the 2010 IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo Attendee Marketing Program,” the judges noted, “The artwork for the program should be hanging on a wall in a museum. In a strikingly beautiful way, the artwork ties together food and technology. The quality design is carried through the program which effectively outlines the opportunities available at the conference.”

The award was presented at the Salute to Association Excellence Event on February 16, in Washington, D.C.  The 2010 competition included more than 470 entries in 27 categories.
