IFT15 Named Fastest Growing Show in America, IFT16 Named Third Most Innovative Trade Show

October 6, 2016

CHICAGO – The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) today announced that its annual event, IFT15, has been named one of the largest trade shows of 2015 by Trade Show Executive Magazine, and won a prized Gold Grand Award for “The Fastest-Growing Gold 100 Trade Show in 2015.”

IFT15 earned a place on the prestigious Trade Show Executive Gold 100 rankings due to its exhibit floor that covered 261,000 square feet, which placed it as the 78th largest show in the U.S. in 2015.  IFT15 also grew over IFT14 at a blended average growth rate of 22.4 percent, which blends and averages three measures of growth: net square feet of exhibit space, number of exhibiting companies and attendees.

IFT’s annual meeting is a frequent honoree at TSE’s Gold 100 Awards & Summit, which includes the biggest and best trade shows in nearly every industry sector and represents the top 1 percent of the nearly 11,000 trade shows held in the U.S. each year.

IFT’s annual event also received recognition from another prestigious organization. IFT16 was named to BizBash Magazine’s 2016 Top 15 Most Innovative Meetings. Ranked at number three, BizBash highlighted how IFT16 is the first group to use EventBit, an innovative contactless data collection system that tracks guest movement at the event in order to get a deeper knowledge of attendee and exhibitor behavior and interests to assist with future planning. IFT16, held in Chicago, had more than 23,500 attendees, 1,221 exhibitors and 110 educational scientific sessions.

“We’re so honored to be recognized by both of these highly respected organizations,” said Kelly Fox, IFT Senior Vice President of Meetings, Learning, and Business Partnerships, CAE. “IFT is always looking to serve its members in innovative and thoughtful ways. Being recognized in this manner reinforces our commitment to excellence and our dedication to providing attendees the best possible annual event experience.”

IFT17 will take place June 25-28 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.
