Food Scientist/Applications Technologist in Kansas – This position will be responsible for applications and new product development.  Minimum BS in Food Science or related field and 3 years experience in new product development and/or applications. Experience in flavor applications and/or product development in snacks, retorted products a plus.   

 

Food Scientist in Colorado – The position will be responsible for ingredient applications.  Minimum BS in Food Science or related field and 3 years experience in ingredient applications. 

 

Food Scientist/Sr. Food Scientist in Illinois – This position will be responsible for developing products at the benchtop through commercialization.  Minimum BS in Food Science or related field.  MS preferred.  Must have diverse product development experience.

JOB TITLE:             Flavor/Ingredient Sales – Direct Accounts & Distributors   

 

LOCATION:  Midwest USA, Work from your home office,  must be close to major airport

 

SALARY:            to $85K base  + company car  depending on your experience

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:              
• Promote Company products (Sweet flavor & ingredient systems) to our Distributors and Customers by making joint sales calls with our Distributors.
• Manage daily aspects of our Distribution network
• Grow sales through our Distribution network
• Manage Regional Direct Accounts.
The position is a growth - oriented position. If successful in this position, this Sales Representative would then be eligible to be promoted, and fill a National Account Manager sales need.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have: 4-year college degree in Food Science or related field

Must have: Food product development experience prior to moving into sales
Must have: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of sales experience

Will consider training a person with an aptitude & desire to move into technical sales
People oriented and have strong relationship building skills
Strong presentation/ communication skills
Strong business acumen
Comfortable with R&D contacts
Technical background is strongly preferred
Knowledge of Distribution helpful but not required

65% travel  (mostly Midwest but some national)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Making joint calls with Distributor sellers
  - Promote Company Distributor products to both R&D and Purchasing
• Follow up on Distribution sample requests with Distributors. Update sample status in SFDC
• Attend Regional sales meetings to discuss the Company portfolio to sellers
• Be first point of contact for Distributor sales force
• First contact on products, pricing and sample questions
• Direct Distributor sellers to the proper contact or procedure
• Communicate pending support expirations to the sellers
• Attend Distribution trade shows
• Relay Market information from sellers back to Company
   -Weekly report on sales calls
   -Monthly report on upcoming activities, pipeline, Market information.
• Manage a number of Regional Direct Accounts

 

70% Distribution sales (expectation to make joint calls 3 days a week)
30% Direct Account sales in Regional/National territory
