• February 19, 2008 – Student Meeting at MSU Campus (Kellogg Center)
  
  Students' dinner and award presentations. We are continuing the new approach: we will have Food Industry Alumni sit at tables with students to answer career questions and share insights
  
  

• March 27, 2008 – Spring Meeting in *New* Fresh Market, Grand Rapids
  
  Tours to Fresh Market Facility, Charlie Baggs' presentation on "Value of Gold Standard Recipes & Incorporation the Culinary BASICS into Product Development," and Cooking Demonstration
  

• April 22, 2008 – Celebrating 30 Years IFT-GLS Suppliers's Day 2008 at Kellogg Arena, Battle Creek, MI
  
  Featuring "Sugar Pulling Art" by Chef Gilles Renusson and over 140 exhibits

• July 30, 2008 – the 25th Annual GLS-IFT Golf Outing *Please mark you calendar, COMING UP SOON!!!*

Event Information

Golf Outing
• Description: Join us in August at one of Michigan's Newest premier championship golf courses. Yarrow Golf & Conference Center is located on 300 acres of natural beauty in Augusta, MI. Members meet with new friends or greet old friends during the hospitality party / Mixer sponsored by Tate and Lyle and stay overnight. The next morning, the event starts off with registration and a continental breakfast. Members can participate in various actities such as the driving range, shotgun start scramble and finally, a buffet dinner on one of the decks as awards are given out to event winners and draws are made for great prizes. Advanced reservations required, first come first served basis.

Supplier's Night
• Descriptions: Supplier's night give you a chance to join with other suppliers in promoting new products and to interact with potential new customers
• Date: Annually in April
• Location: Battle Creek

Section Meetings: Dinner and Speaker
• Description:Committee members meet to discuss future events, highlights, progress reports and election in an earlier meeting. They later join up with other members in the highlight event: Social dinner for all GLS members, where student, university faculty and industry members had the chance to socialize with new people and meet old acquaintances.
• Date: Fall and Spring semester, annually
• Location: Varies within Michigan.

Student Awards Night
• Description: The scholarship award reception dinner event is usually held in conjunction with the section dinner on campus. A great opportunity for all members to socialize and network.
• Date: Spring semester annually
