Activities:
Ø
At the beginning of fall semester, members welcomed new
students by participating at a kick off party and setting up an information
booth of IFT and IFT-SA. This endeavor proved as a membership drive and enabled
the IFT-SA to increase the number of members as compared to previous years.
Ø
Members also participated on Hobo day, a famous home coming
parade of SDSU.
Ø
Each fall the IFT-SA assists in the preparation of food,
beverages and help serve at the prestigious Dean’s High Tea hosted by the Dean
of the
Ø
The members also prepare a food dish for International
Night, a presentation of international students filled with food, fun, and
cultural show to celebrate diversity.
Ø
Like every year, SDSU chapter of IFT-SA filled out the fall
semester by attending a Food Suppliers Expo in the Twin Cities.
Ø
Many of the graduate students sent their research abstracts
for oral and/or poster presentation at the annual meeting of IFT to be held at
Ø
First ever participation in college bowl quiz competition
and attending students recognition night organized by Minnesota section of IFT
at University of Minnesota is another activity of IFT-SA.
