SPEAKER:
Gary C. Pavlis, Ph.D.
Professor & Atlantic County Agricultural Agent
Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station
In the
beginning you were happy that you knew the difference between a Chardonnay and
a Cabernet. Not long after came along Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio, which you
were finally getting straight only to get blindsided by Chambourcin and
Traminette. Well your luck had just changed. Come and join us at the Silver
Decoy Winery. We are pleased to welcome our speaker, Gary C. Pavlis, Ph.D.,
C.W.J. back by popular demand. During Gary’s wine tour and presentation, he
will introduce us to the new and upcoming wines, reacquaint us with the
traditional wines, and help to simplify the confusing world of wine. Gary will
also share his insights on how to enjoy the wines grown here in our home state
of New Jersey.
Dr. Pavlis
is a Professor and County Agricultural Agent for Rutgers Cooperative Extension,
where he works with his number one passion -- WINE. As the Atlantic County
Agricultural Agent, he has played an instrumental role in the New Jersey wine
industry. Gary has chaired and conducted the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Wine
Competition for many years. Gary is a past American Wine Society President and
Associate Editor for Viticulture, Journal of the American Wine Society. Gary’s
worldwide travels have him evaluating over 2,000 wines annually. At home he
enjoys his 3,000 bottle personal wine cellar.
