Welcome to the Puget Sound Section IFT!
We are an active organization of more
than 350 food professionals centered in western Washington
with members from all parts of the state, Alaska and Idaho. If you are interested in everything
involved with creating great food products, ensuring food safety and promoting the advancement
of food science then you should become a member.
There are many ways to get involved in the organization and the local food community. We put
on many events throughout the year where you can meet other food people and gain from
informative sessions where you learn more about our great food industry.

Congratulations to the WSU/UI
IFTSA team for being a finalist and earning Honorable Mention in the
Disney Product Development Contest at the recent IFT Annual Meeting and
Expo in New Orleans. The contest began last fall and culminated with 6 finalist teams competing in New Orleans. The challenge for each team was to propose a market-relevant, delicious and nutritious snack applicable to food or beverage that integrates at least one of the following: a fruit, vegetable, low-fat dairy product, and/or whole grains in a product targeted to children 12 and younger for a retail outlet. PSIFT provided funds to support the team's trip to New Orleans and we couldn't be more proud of the team and its accomplishment. To view the full size flyer click here. the food science and technology field. Founded in 1939, IFT is a not-for-profit organization whose
mission is to advance the science and technology of food through the exchange of knowledge. IFT
