career includes high-level product development positions at many world recognized food and health companies
creating a variety of top national and international brands.

Back by Popular Demand: PSIFT Beer Brewing Fest 2011

When: Thursday October 20, 2011
Gallagher's Where-U-Brew, Edmonds
The Beer-Making social event was such a big hit last year that we did it again this year.
This was a team brewing event and each of the brew participants and sponsors got an
assortment of the beer and wine produced. The beer was made at Gallagher's NEW
Where-U-Brew location in Edmonds, an excellent facility with top notch equipment.
We "maxed-out" the facility with 50 participants along with catered BBQ buffet dinner.
Making beer is thirsty work and Gallagher's offers an assortment of their brews on tap.
Everyone sampled the beers and Gallagher's excellent root beer (a non-alcoholic beverage).
Two weeks later a crew of 22 met back at Gallagher's to bottle the beer (wine will be bottled
in December). It was a fun hive of activity with bottling, capping and networking. What a
great time!
We made these beers:
- White Knuckle IPA
- Gally Mac
- Faceplant Winter Ale
- Stalin's Stout
- Cut Your Grass
- Client's Brew Monk
We bottled these Wines:
- French Merlot
- French Viognier

Meeting September 19, 2011 : The
Texas Turkey
Shootout
A lesson in oils and
their selection was the order of the day. Located on the sunny shores of Lake Washington at the exclusive Lake Forest Park Civic Club, we enjoyed
an evening of good food and good folks and chance to mingle with other food
professionals.
As part of the evening 3 turkeys were prepared . . . 2 deep fried and 1 oven roasted
for comparison. The fried turkeys were cooked in different oils and samples of the
three were shared with the group (put a "little South in your mouth").
Dr. C. Clay King, Ph.D gave us the detailed skinny on fats. Arriving from Texas he toured
the Seattle area and Mt. Rainier before delivering an informative presentation
oils and fats basics.
