Position: Key Account Manager
Job Description: As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and growing business relationships through proven sales experience and business acumen to support identified goals. Responsible for driving and achieving targeted sales at existing customers and new customers. This position will work closely with Business Director and Technical Director to define and deliver a specific executive plan for sales growth.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintain business base and exceed targeted revenue growth by achieving established goals
Develop account plans to maximize performance
Present and demonstrate new and existing products to customers
Gain and share market knowledge to better position Nikken and to grow the business
Conduct regular in-person customer visits and business reviews
Advocate customer requirements and serve as primary voice of Nikken to customer
Prepare sales presentations and proposals
Ability to manage and prioritize projects; identify targets
Provide detailed status reports of new and existing account activity
Participate in industry events
Willing to travel extensively domestically and internationally, approximately 70% of time
Requirements:
BA/BS in food science, chemistry, biology or related discipline
MBA preferred
Minimum 5 years experience selling business-to-business in the food industry

Job Title: Application Chemist
Department: Laboratory
Reports to: Manager-Technical Support
Basic Function (Purpose of Position):
- Formulate and prepare a wide variety of finished beverage prototypes such as nutritional beverages, sports drinks, still beverages, juices, CSD's for customers using colors.
- Generate formula technical data, including ingredient listing and analytical specifications (brix, pH, acidity, specific gravity, color).
- Assist in determine ways to maximize stability of colors in finished application
- Conduct laboratory tests on food and beverage applications and finished colors
- Conduct stability tests on food and beverage applications and finished colors
- Maintain project and lab database
- Aid in the development and testing of colors
- Report to managers on application trials and results
- Maintain lab equipments and chemicals.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead in the hands-on development of custom color products as well as refining current products
- Perform applications projects to include assessing project requirements and performing experiments and application work

- Serve as a liaison for technical expertise to other technical teams, customers, and to Operations and Quality functions

Job Knowledge/Education/Experience:
- BS in a scientific discipline or Food Science
- 3+ years of experience in product development or closely related function
- Experience in preparing product demonstrations for customers, preferably in beverage and food applications
- Solid command of food science principles and understanding of ingredient functionality
- Familiarity with food processing techniques such as hot-filling, pasteurizing, baking, extruding etc.

1. The coordination of complex and multi disciplined product development projects with minimal supervision. This includes ensuring that objectives and timelines are met. Leads more than 1 complex project at a time.
2. Conduct bench trials and assist in plant trials to create new products for customer testing.
3. Innovative and practical application/modification of existing technologies to achieve business goals of commercializing new products.
4. Works in a team environment ensuring alignment with cross functional partners including QC/QA, Operations, and Purchasing.
5. Provides technical leadership to assure smooth rollouts of new products into operations.
6. Comprehensive product documentation to enable smooth commercialization and training of plant personnel.
