What is IFT?
The Institute of Food Technologists is a unique umbrella organization
that brings together all the diverse disciplines involved in food
technology. It is a scientific and educational society of individual
members including:
- Food Technologists and Scientists
- Engineers
- Executives, including Sales and Marketing
- Government Regulators
- Educators
- Individuals in all food related fields

The institute of Food Technologists is dedicated to promoting the
application of science and technology to improve the production,
distribution, preparation, evaluation and utilization of foods, in order
to promote a better, more plentiful food supply for mankind. The
institute's goals include:
- Stimulation investigations into technological problems
- Presenting, Discussion and publishing the results of these
investigations
- Promoting a free exchange of information and ideas
- Raising the Educational standards of food technologists
- Promoting recognition of the food technologist's role in industry.

The National Institute of Food Technologists employment referral
service helps members to research and secure positions within the
industry. The service's activities include:
- Maintaining resume files for inspection by employers and
"Positions Available" files for members inspection.
- Monthly listings of positions across the country from the National
IFT office for inspection by members.
