Nancy Moriarity worked within PepsiCo’s R&D organization for more than 26 years. Before her retirement in 2016, she supported the Global R&D strategy, providing strategic leadership to the arm of PepsiCo’s R&D function providing shared services to global category R&D teams.
Nancy also worked to support students throughout her PepsiCo career. While at Frito-Lay, she participated in Food Scientist recruiting activities, beginning on campus and moving into an R&D recruiting leadership role. Nancy remained close with her alma mater, volunteering for six years on the External Advisory Committee of the U of I Dept of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
In 2005, after 16 years at Frito-Lay, Nancy joined PepsiCo’s Nutritional Sciences organization. She held multiple roles within this team, including developing technical research programs on dietary fiber and protein, a leadership role on global undernutrition projects, and Global Nutrition Science’s strategy development and coordination.
Before joining Frito-Lay, Nancy completed post-doctoral work at USDA, working in the Food Safety research group investigating effects of ionizing radiation on lipids.
Nancy joined IFT in 1991. She was elected to the Feeding Tomorrow Board of Trustees in 2016 and is the 2019-2020 Chair of the Feeding Tomorrow Board of Trustees. Before her involvement on Feeding Tomorrow, Nancy volunteered for the Chicago Section as a member and then Chair of their Scholarship Committee.
