Background

Darryl Sullivan is the Chief Science Officer at Eurofins Scientific, a global contract research organization. In this role Darryl is responsible for the scientific integrity of all of the testing done across the Eurofins laboratories. Darryl has more than 40 years of experience in the food industry as a scientist, laboratory director and business executive.  He is responsible for the development and validation of hundreds of analytical test methods used to support the food industry and he is the leader of an international initiative to harmonize test methods for infant formula around the world.  In the role Mr. Sullivan works with Codex Alimentarius on the development of globally recognized standards.

Darryl has held leadership roles in other scientific organizations including AOAC INTERNATIONAL where he was a Board Member and President, Council for Responsible Nutrition, Natural Products Assoc., United Sates Pharmacopeia and American Herbal Products Assoc.

IFT Highlights

Darryl began his involvement with IFT as a member of the Wisconsin Section. Soon after this he was presenting in and chairing symposia at almost every IFT Annual Meeting.  In more recent years Mr. Sullivan helped IFT shape its Annual meeting through participating in and chairing the Hot Topics Committee, and being a member of AMSPAP. He continues to review abstracts for symposia and posters every year.  Darryl has been active in numerous IFT Divisions including Food Chemistry, Nutrition, and Nutraceutical and Functional Foods (NFF).  He has chaired the NFF on two occasions and has helped make this Division one of the largest most vibrant groups in IFT.  He wants to continue his contributions to IFT at the Division and Board level.
