Fruit has been linked to myriad health and disease risk reduction benefits.Would that everyone had the fortune of taking a daily summer’s walk through an apple orchard, a grape vineyard, or along a strawberry field—to catch a whiff of the ripening fruit and to be guided along solely by one’s senses to his or her choice of fresh, sweet, mouthwatering goodness. Perhaps, then, there wouldn’t  exist the need to worry over weight gain, obesity, and its health consequences or the devastation that is brought on by chronic disease.
