McCain Foods has announced plans to expand its capacity at its french fry plant in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada. This investment will bring additional production capacity to the manufacturing facility, helping to meet continued demand for McCain products in the company’s domestic and international markets. Built in 2000, Coaldale is a key plant within the McCain North American supply network, employing more than 200 workers and drawing its supply from 28 potato growers in the Southern Alberta region.
The expansion is expected to be completed by fall 2017 and is part of the company’s ongoing global capacity investment program. Over the past 18 months, McCain Foods has announced investments of more than $1 billion to add capacity to its plants in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Belgium, Argentina, Colombia, and India.
