Amrita Health Foods is recalling a limited number of Amrita Bars because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after Hudson Valley Foods advised Amrita Health Foods that sunflower seeds and sunflower seed butter sold to the company for a short period of time have been recalled. The recalled Amrita Bars were distributed across the United States via retail stores, ecommerce, and direct sales.

Amrita Health Foods is recalling nine flavors of the protein bars produced from April 24–May 31, 2017, with best buy dates of 04/24/2018 to 05/31/2018. The recalled products are: Amrita Chocolate Maca Bar, Amrita Dark Chocolate Quinoa, Amrita Sunflower Seed Butter, Amrita Chocolate Chip Coconut, Amrita Mango Coconut, Amrita Apricot Strawberry, Amrita Pineapple Chia, Amrita Apple Cinnamon, and Amrita Cranberry Raisin.

No confirmed illnesses have been reported to date.
