Q Laboratories, a provider of microbiology and analytical chemistry laboratory services to companies around the world, has named Jeff Rowe president and CEO. David Goins, who served as president and CEO since 2000 will transition to chief operations officer, overseeing the daily operations of the corporations’ laboratory divisions. Rowe previously served as president and CEO of Hydro Systems, a subsidiary of Dover. He was credited with leading the effort that saw Hydro Systems increase sales and earnings by more than 500% during his 17 years at the helm. Since retiring from Hydro Systems in 2015, Rowe founded and served as a partner in Nunan Vogel Rowe, a career coaching and business consulting firm.
In other news, Q Laboratories has been named an AFNOR Certified Expert Laboratory, making the company qualified to perform validation studies on instruments, test kits, and materials for the food microbiology testing industry in France. Based on the results of Q Laboratories’ presentation to Association Française de Normalisation’s (AFNOR) Technical Board, the company was granted Expert Lab status. By acquiring AFNOR Expert Laboratory NF 102 Validation status, Q Laboratories is one of only two labs in the world, and the only lab in the Western Hemisphere, certified by all three major certification bodies—AOAC, MicroVAL and AFNOR—to perform these critical independent laboratory studies.
