JBT acquires HPP provider Avure for $57 million
JBT, a global technology solutions provider to segments of the food and beverage industry, has purchased Avure Technologies, a provider of high pressure processing (HPP) systems, for $57 million.
JBT, a global technology solutions provider to segments of the food and beverage industry, has purchased Avure Technologies, a provider of high pressure processing (HPP) systems, for $57 million. Privately-held Avure is headquartered in Erlanger, Ky., with a manufacturing center in Middletown, Ohio.
“We are excited about the rapidly expanding market adoption of HPP across protein and liquid foods,” said Steve Smith, president of JBT FoodTech. “With the addition of Avure, JBT will be able to offer comprehensive thermal and nonthermal preservation solutions.”
Avure will benefit from JBT’s global salesforce and responsive aftermarket support, as well as the company’s commitment to developing next generation equipment that delivers the lowest total cost of ownership by optimizing throughput and reliability.
