Mann Packing, Salinas, Calif., is voluntarily recalling minimally processed vegetable products that were distributed in the U.S. and Canada because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Mann Packing issued the recall in response to a single positive result found on one product during random sampling by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
The recalled fresh-cut products were distributed throughout the United States and Canada with “best if used by” dates from October 11 to October 20 listed on the front of the packaging. “As an owner of this company and a mom, providing safe and healthy foods to our consumers and their families is always our top priority,” said Gina Nucci, Director of Corporate Marketing. “This voluntary recall is a reflection of our commitment to ensuring the safety of our consumers.”
Brands of fresh vegetable products included in the recall include Mann’s, Western Family, Archer Farms, H-E-B, Little Salad Bar, Signature Farms, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Cross Valley Farms, Compliments, and Sysco Natural. Supermarkets impacted by this recall include Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Meijer, Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, H-E-B, and Pak N’ Save.
In response to the mounting number of secondary U.S. recalls, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has set up a web page where consumers can easily review all recalls related to this recall.
