J. M. Smucker acquires Ainsworth Pet Nutrition; explores divestiture for U.S. baking business

The J. M. Smucker Co. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ainsworth Pet Nutrition in a transaction valued at approximately $1.7 billion, after an estimated tax benefit of $200 million.
