Researchers recommend improvements to health claims rules in the EU and U.S.

A review study on “Scientific Evidence on Functional Food and Its Commercial Communication: A Review of Legislation in Europe and the USA” published in the Journal of Food Science examined how scientific evidence to substantiate nutrition and health claims in food commercial communication is regulated in Europe and the United States and provided recommendations on improving health claims rules.
