25% of Americans with food allergies developed them in adulthood
In a presentation at the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) annual scientific meeting, researchers revealed that one in four surveyed adults with food allergies reported developing their allergy after childhood, with women more likely to report an adult-onset food allergy than men.
