IFT Spirit Week: Calling All Official Food Geeks!

Get ready to show your OFG pride during the first-ever IFTSA Spirit Week! With a different activity each day, you’ve got five ways to show off your food science pride to your fellow OFGs. No sign-ups are necessary – just post to Facebook and Twitter using #OFGSpiritWeek.

  • Monday, March 11 – Build-It Challenge
    Unleash your imagination to build the fanciest structure you can – from crackers! Be they graham, saltine, or Ritz crackers, use them and your creativity to build the fanciest structure you can think of and post it to IFTSA’s Facebook page!
  • Tuesday, March 12 – Dress up as a Food Item Challenge
    Dress up as a food item – the more creative, the better! Take a photo and upload it onto IFTSA’s Facebook page. Most creative outfit will get a special feature on IFTSA’s Facebook and Twitter page!
  • Wednesday, March 13 – The Great Pundertaking
    Do you miss our Monday Pundays series? So do we! For newcomers, Monday Pundays is a series of food puns that get posted on IFTSA’s social media pages every Monday. We’re inviting YOU to submit your food puns and they could potentially be featured on IFTSA’s Facebook and Twitter page. You can submit as many puns as you like. The sky’s the limit!
  • Thursday, March 14 – Career Advice from New Professionals Webinar
    Curious how the first day on the job for an R&D scientist went? Itching to know the perks of a small company versus a corporate giant? Crush your appetite for answers, and come join us for an informational and interactive webinar. We will get to pick the brains of a diverse panel of food industry professionals about how their careers launched and other mysteries unbeknownst to the world outside these specific paths in food. Broaden your perspective, increase your professional knowledge, and best of all, you’ll do it all from your location of choice!

  • Friday, March 15 – OFGs in Action
    Did you or your chapter volunteer in some capacity this academic year? Maybe you did an educational outreach to inform high school students of what a food science career entails, or maybe you volunteered as a team at your local food bank. Or, maybe you baked a cake for your advisor for their birthday? Whatever it may be, we want to see YOU in action!
