• Unlock the Potential of the Food Science Community

Get Involved Members consistently tell us that the more they do with IFT, the more essential their membership becomes.

Opportunities for IFT members to engage in the food science and technology community are almost unlimited.

Volunteer

IFT thrives because of the input and thought leadership of members like you, and we are eager to connect you with a meaningful volunteer role. Consider getting involved to help shape scientific programming, recognize leaders by serving as an award juror, or change the life of an aspiring food scientist by awarding scholarships.

If you are interested in a one time, short-term, or a longer-term commitment, there are a variety of opportunities to make an impact.

Top 3 reasons why IFT members volunteer:

  • Expand professional and personal network

Participate in the Most Important Food Event of the Year

Each year, the best minds in food science gather at the IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo to network, form new business relationships, and learn from each other. Present, attend, exhibit, join the discussion and even participate in our annual IFT Foundation Fun Run. Proceeds help fund scholarships for students pursuing a career in food science.

Join a Group in Your Area

Members meet face to face throughout the year. With fifty regional Sections, four of them international, you can easily find other IFT members in your area who are eager to network. You’ll find opportunities to participate and volunteer at a wide variety of Section meetings and functions.
